Vietnam Military History Museum is about to open to welcome visitors

The Vietnam Military History Museum is preparing to reopen after renovation. Located in Hanoi, the museum houses thousands of important artifacts about military history from the resistance wars against France and the US to the modern era. The exhibition areas will include weapons, tanks, aircraft and important relics associated with the nation's war history.Location and Architecture Located in the heart of Hanoi, the museum is on Dien Bien Phu Street, very convenient for visitors to combine visiting other famous tourist attractions such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake. The museum is built in a modern architecture, harmoniously combining outdoor and indoor spaces. From the outside, visitors will encounter many giant artifacts such as T-54 tanks, MIG-21 aircraft, warships... vividly recreating historical periods.The Victory Tower at the Vietnam Military History Museum is 45m high, symbolizing the year 1945, the time when the country gained independence. The top of the tower is cut at a 60-degree angle, creating a five-pointed star, with stars stacked on top of each other, symbolizing the desire to rise. This aircraft bears 14 red stars, symbolizing the 14 times the US Air Force shot down aircraft during the war of destruction in the North from 1965-1967. In 2015, MiG-21 serial number 4324 was recognized as a national treasure by the Prime Minister, demonstrating its great historical value.Experiential activities In addition to sightseeing, the museum also offers many interactive experiential activities for visitors. Modern digital galleries allow viewers to learn more about the battles, through documentary films, 3D battle models and combat simulation games. After evaluation and further completion, the museum is expected to officially open to visitors in October. A delegation from the Lao People's Army History Museum visited the museum on October 3 as part of an exchange and learning activity.The completed Vietnam Military History Museum project includes an indoor and outdoor exhibition system with 6 themes on historical processes, 8 in-depth topics, 7 collections, and 12 different military specialties of the Vietnam People's Army. These contents not only help visitors better understand the stages of military history but also demonstrate the development and progress in the art of war and national defense through the ages.The Vietnam Military History Museum features four National Treasures, including two MIG-21 aircraft numbered 4324 and 5121, a T54B tank numbered 843, and a map of determination to fight in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. In particular, the T54B tank numbered 843 was one of the first to crash into the side gate of the Independence Palace on April 30, 1975, marking an important historical event, and was recognized as a National Treasure, symbolizing the great victory of the nation.The exhibition space of the Vietnam Military History Museum features a MiG-21 aircraft numbered 5121. This aircraft was piloted by three talented pilots: Dinh Ton, Vu Dinh Rang and hero Pham Tuan. During the 1972 air defense campaign, MiG-21 No. 5121 achieved the feat of shooting down 5 American aircraft, including the B-52 super fortress, one of the greatest achievements in the history of air combat in Vietnam.The Vietnam Military History Museum applies modern technology to create a realistic feeling for viewers, including mapping models, a system of reference screens and documentary films.
